Carolina is a Registered Psychologist and Co-Founder of thoughts and things. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of mental health concerns in both private and public sectors. Carolina frequently supports clients with anxiety and panic, depression/mood issues, stress, trauma, emotional dysregulation, adjustment difficulties, school-related issues, perinatal issues, and relationship difficulties.

Carolina adopts a warm, person-centred, collaborative approach to develop a strong therapeutic alliance, in order to achieve client goals and desired outcomes. During her sessions, she gives her clients the opportunity to explore their problems in a validating, non-judgmental and supportive environment. She finds it incredibly rewarding to watch her clients progress and leave with skills that would help them throughout their lives.

Carolina practices using a wide range of evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), whilst also applying elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and attachment based therapies. Using these evidence-based approaches, she equips her clients with strategies and skills to cope with their struggles and create rich and fulfilling lives in the long-term.

As Carolina has a background in schools, she is also especially skilled in conducting cognitive, behavioural, adaptive, and educational assessments.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I am very much a homebody! I like spending my time cuddling up to Evie, playing games on my Nintendo Switch or watching old Disney movies.

However, the times I do make it out, I love spending time with my family and friends trying out new restaurants and activities!

What’s your favourite quote?

“Is it me? Am I the drama? I don’t think I’m the drama… Maybe I am! Am I the villain? I don’t think I’m the villain!” - RuPaul's Drag Race

Where is your favourite travel destination?

Prague! It is the most beautiful city I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The views, the architecture, the castles, the food... *chef's kiss*

What does therapy mean to you?

Therapy is an opportunity to explore and understand the world through your eyes. We understand that it is a difficult time and talking about your experiences is not easy, but we are here to give you the time and space to do so.

Together, we can come up with a plan to move towards a more meaningful life.
